I am thinking of sharing an RV with my son -in -law.
Has anyone got an example of a workable arrangement?
He would remain the owner and I would share in expenses.
any ideas?
Cheers

best way in the hole world to ruin a friendship is to share things with a relative it,ll make bitter enemies out of both of you.help him buy his own rv and yoou,ll stay friends.

Two thoughts...

1. You can pick your friends but not your relatives.

2. The difference between in laws and outlaws is that outlaws are wanted.

All of the above are spot on.....the best way to lose a good friend or ruin a relationship is to "loan money, hire or go in business with those noted above. I would include a partnership in an RV in the same way. Don't do it UNLESS you want to get rid of the SIL.... :-)

I'd not enter into an agreement like that, period. A RV is like a house, but far more delicate. It is way too easy to cause a spill, crack, split, or other damage that can mean large repairs and bad blood, especially with in-laws. Then there are items like carpet and mattresses which I would hesitate to share with anyone.

Too much can go wrong, and it strikes dangerously close to mixing business and friendship.
