I have been looking at these 2 and I am concerned about the short wheelbase on the 30T models. It's only 190". Can any of you owners out there tell me how these units ride and handle? 51.2% isn't the best ratio! Any problems? Everyone seems to love theirs but not to many comments on ride and handling. Thank you for any wisdom you can share!

I get 7mpg. Stock handling is not up to my expectations. We put Kelderman air ride and now handles well. Al's added steering stabilizer and rear trac bar.

I have a Vista 30T. There are F53 chassis issues but they are not confined to the shorter WB models alone. Most all Ford owners are aware and have upgraded their chassises with track bars, steering stabilizers or swaybars. I really enjoy my MH's floorplan and find the driveability very acceptable. I have added suspension upgrades as of late. Many have just changed the sway bars link bots position. The ride, quietness, performance are all fine in my opinion. I would suspect that other considerations like price, floorplan, might be more important. I'd buy the model that you feel most confortable with overall.

I'll tell you in a couple of weeks - taking delivery on a new Itasca 30T. The impression I have gotten from other threads is that the newer ones handle fine. There was some speculation that the suspension has been modified some in the last couple of years. Some with older ones (30W) before the 30T made some mods to the suspension to get them tweaked to their satisfaction.

We have a 30W on a 190" Work Horse chassis and it rides and drives great. Just drove in a strong gusty wind all day and it did fine.

I didn't mean to be brisk. I love the 30T. That is why I made the mods. It lives incredibly large for the size. We spend two months at a time in it and are never wishing it was larger. With the price you can afford to make a few mods to make it perfect. We traded our 30W for the 30T as we love the bedroom slide and we had a dinette and we love the buffet. I recommend it.
