Starting to dream about a summer trip. Any ideas or shares about coming in from Eastern NC and heading west to the great smokies, then north back through VA would be appreciated. We have never been there and heard that is beautiful country.

We checked River Plantation RV park in Sevierville and it looks nice. Take the drive to Cades Cove. White water rafting. In Cherokee, go see "Unto These Hills" an outdoor drama about The Trail of Tears. So much to see and do in the area. Look online at North Carolina and Tennessee tourist sites.

ps.. don't forget West Virginia. One of the most beautiful states! Cass Scenic Railroad, New River Gorge Bridge, Harpers Ferry and much more. We stayed at a Corps of Engineers campground on Lake Summersville.

This is one of our favorite CGs near the foothills of the Smokey Mountains.

It's isolated on a beautiful creek. Great fishing, tubing, swimming, white water rafting, hiking, etc.
