Give one person in your family the responsibility for making sure these 2 things are taken care each and every time you break camp to leave.

1. Antenna Down

2. Steps In

Then you can always say YOU have never left those 2 items out.

I've had two that I can think of, after many years of RV-ing as I was pulling into our parking spot at home with our NEW 5th wheel I caught a low hanging power line that ran from the transformer to the house. The latest was about a month ago on our return trip home from Quartzsite, AZ. Pulled away without unplugging the electric cord. Can you say I have a thing with electricity??

My black tank gate wasn't closed so when I opened the cap I got a surprise. Luckily it wasn't much because we had just arrived at the CG.

I didn't watch my tail swing when pulling out of a campsite, minor damage to our Southwind and the electrical box.
Forgot to unplug from shore power when leaving home, fortunately nothing was damaged.

The last time I fueled up in NJ one Oct on the way north I froze up 20 miles from home. Three weeks ago we headed south on vacation. As usual....a fuel stop in NJ. I asked the attendant about winter blend as it was in the mid 30s. His reply was that they stopped using winter blend diesel 3yrs ago because it foams too much and takes to long to top off the tank. I carry anti-gel with me but decided "I'm headed to where it is warm....I don't need it!". The DW heard the conversation and asked if I was going to put it in.....nah....we don't need it. Then I got the look. It was after midnight and the temp was still dropping..... As we crossed the Susquehanna River Bridge in MD on 95 the truck went into "Limp Mode". I knew what it was and didn't say a peep! I looked over at the DW and didn't get the look.....she unloaded on me! 30 minutes later, there I was, at 2 am in the closest parking lot, with the wind blowing so hard you could barely open the door and temps in the 20s....changing my fuel filter! When I got back in the warm truck she gave me the grin.....Lesson Learned!
