Hi all

can you tell we've never had a camper that had it's own toilet before.

Do you use regular toilet paper or some special quick dissolve paper in a camper toilet ?????? It's a 24 foot travel trailer.

thanks----gary in wisconsin

Many will tell you that you can use whatever you want. I prefer the RV paper just to be on the safe side. I guess it's a personal preference. You'll get both answers here and the reasons they do what they do.

I use the same thing in the camper that I use at home and that is usually whatever is on sale. As far as I know the length of the camper has no relation to the type toilet paper that one might use.

We've used ordinary Charmin Ultra for many years without any problems. The key to using any paper is just to make sure you use plenty of water along with it. People will show you all sorts of silly "testing results", which are all pretty useless for the most part. Nearly any "septic safe" paper will break down faster than you can pull up your pants and run out to pull the dump valve.

We use good toilet paper that we get for. Good price. It is only going to be in the tank about a week anyhow. It drains out just fine.

I've been using regular single ply Scotts for over 10 years in my RV's without any problems.
I always flush the black water tank with lots of water after dumping if possible just to make sure I don't have problems.

Robsouth----- I'm still laughing about your comment about the length of the camper relating to the toilet paper---that was funny.

the reason I mentioned the type of trailer was so no one would think I was talking about those little portable toilets you see in pop ups.

use what ever you use in the house you now live in. most TP is septic safe. the tank in your TT is not a septic system but merely a holding tank. you do not have to worry if it is going to break down and dissolve in the holding tank. RV paper is thin fast dissolving paper but since you asked, I don't like it because you have to use so darn much of it to keep from poking through the paper at the most awkward time.

Its not the length of the trailer, it is the toilet that is installed. A house type toilet installed in a 24 foot trailer (very rare) would probably get a different answer than a 40 foot park model with a RV type toilet (again very rare).
