We go to MB for summer vacation.

Last year I got two wooden pirate chests from amazon and buried them in the sand, with an "X marks the spot map" for them to follow and dig up the treasure.
They went nuts!

Trying to think of something to do this year. I need some help.
Going back to Lakewood CG at Myrtle Beach.
Anybody?

Bike Rides, Hiking, Nature walks, Collecting different shells, Do simple crafts, there are many kits in different stores. Take your maps, and have them plot a route to different spots, then have them calculate best route. Each child works on their own map when doing this, then compare results. Bird books, see what they can find. Cameras? See what the can do and find.

Have fun.

Sounds like you need to check out some geocaching.

Check with a Cub Scout Leader. Cub Scouts have books with literally hundreds of activities for that age group.

I do think that you are going to have a hard time outdoing the buried treasure chest. That is great!!

If the weather is lousy, go see a movie. Indoor arcade fun for all as well.

Some things my son likes to do:
Geocaching- bike riding
shooting sports, anything from rubber band guns, archery, BB guns or air soft
leather project like a belt pouch. a medium sized knife pouch holds a matchbox car pretty good
survival bracelets
sand castle contest, and destruction!
flying kites on a windy day.
