Spending some time this summer on the Oregon Coast and looking for any input on campgrounds right on the ocean. Preferably either right on the beach or within walking distance. Thanks.

Right on the beach....HERE
Or any of the excellent beach/Oregon Coast State Parks. All are within walking distance or closer to the water.

But, summer - make reservations yesterday.

Have to agree on early reservations for the state parks. They are often full, even mid week during July & August. Check the park maps - some of the state parks require a drive or long walk to the beach...

You can camp in the dunes at The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area near Coos Bay.

South of there along 101 there are places where overnighting is allowed between the highway and the beach- no signs, no charge and no facilities.

The further south you go and the further you are away from major cities like Portland, Eugene, Medford etc. the more likely you will be to find a beach front state park available.

Good luck and enjoy Oregon this summer!

One of our fav's is Bullards Beach, just across the bridge north of Bandon. Nice sites and a walk to the beach.
