Topsail - Prices higher, you do get, cable hookups, WIFI in the park, paved, manicured lots, very mobile home like, a pool, shuffle board, park store, etc.....Little jaunt to the beach.

Grayton Beach State Park - A little more economincal, more rustic, camping like setup, campfire pits, there are sites with full hook-ups (no Cable or WIFI if that is important), not as far to the beach, not so Mobile home park like.

Grayton

Not bashing Topsail, many LOVE it and depending on your ammenities, maybe better.

We enjoyed Grayton better this past Labor Day, very near Grayton is Seaside, great little area for walking, eating, site-seeing, etc.....

Scroll through this post, has a picture of both parks to get a feel, along with some of the good eats in the area:

Good Luck and have a great trip!

Topsail (formerly a commercial park) has full hook-ups but is almost a mile from the beach - a long walk. There is a tram to take you too and from the park and beach.

Henderson Beach has water and electric only but is closer to the beach.

Both are great parks.

Stayed at Grayton St park last year, for Thanksgiving, when returning from Disney.
Had a nice spot in the trees with a view of the water.
It gets real tight when you get close to the water. With the 27' TT didn't have a issue but wouldn't try it with the 5th wheel.

Grayton is east of Destin but I agree if I needed FHU I would prefer it.

None of those I listed have a view of the Gulf, some sites at Grayton Bch SP have a lake view but the beach is a short distance away in most cases. St Andrews SP has some spots directly on a bay with nice views but the beach is a bike or car ride away. At Topsail the beach is further but again is accesible by bike or the park tram. At Henderson Bch the Gulf is a short walk on a nice boardwalk through the coastal scrub and dunes.

Grayton Bch campsites can be seen here;

Henderson Bch sites here;

This is my favorite site at St Andrews SP (Panama City Bch)

I'd take Grayton Beach in a heart beat. (We're in a B, so don't have the big rig issues.) But it is camping, with plenty of growies between sites for privacy and easy access to the beach, town and things to do. With a great beach!

Camping in a Sportsmobile. How much better can it get?
