When it's not a 'traditional' cache, apparently.

I have an abundance of Diamond Willow Walking/Hiking sticks and was stuck for what to do with them. A bud suggested leaving one in places that I camp...and I thought..what a great idea! So..I expanded on it a bit and now have begun leaving a Diamond Willow Walking/Hiking stick in places that have some sort of connection for me. I take the GPS co-ordinates and post that on a Blog I have put up just for the purpose.

http://comefindit.blogspot.ca/

I had submitted the cache to Geo-cache dot com , but they have declined. Not 'traditional'. As in..a plastic box with paper/pencil in it. So..I do it this way.

This is todays

Dog gone it. I'd sure love to find one of those nice sticks in my boondocking site in Arizona.

That is excellent! Wish I had the time to recover one. If I find one, I'll replace it with one of my own.

You guys could go into business. I get so tired of those made in China ones for 20 bucks or more. Picked up a nice Made in Texas homemade one for something like 10 buck couple years back

We have a local that we call "Stickman". He sits in the back of his van on M-72 just east of Kalkaska, all summer long, making and selling hand wittled walking sticks. Price is usually $10 and up. Must do a reasonable business, because he has been doing it for years. He competes with "The Cherry Lady" for the prized spot, just east of the M-131 intersection. She sells cherries and cherry products all summer.

Shows how much you know !! Chinese people are shorter than Americans, so if you use one of their walking sticks you'll end up hunch backed.

I made my own and it is an excellent stick. I get favorable comments all the time . Saved my butt on a few difficult hikes this summer.
Found it on the golf course--took the bark off--sanded it--light stain--woodburned my initials and DOB--added a few trinkets and a paracord wrap.
Easy to do.
