our old trusty 10 X 10 Quick Shade Canopy took flite this week breaking a few of the oval tube fittings which I found from Mfg, website for .50 a piece. I ordered eight. for a total of $4. I figured maybe $5 to ship small envelope. Shipping & Handling would have been $13.95 in adition to the parts. No way that's happening. I will use fender washers. So although I really like this product I wanted to warn you of the potential cost for parts.

Same thing happened to one of my brothers recently. He made new connectors and tubes himself rather than buy new ones.

As an afterthought he used screw-in anchor stakes and ratchet straps to hold it down afterwards and no more taking flight for the 12x12 canopy. JMT

I have a quick shade too. Been using it for many-many years. One of the joints lost the pin that holds them together. Quick fix, I used a small bungie cord hook (the small ones that are like a very heavy wire), stuck it in there and just let the bungie dangle. Well, that was more than 2 years ago, and it's still doing the job. I figure, why change it if it works!

Yea, manufacturer parts sure can cost.

They do make a pretty good product. I just want folks to know if they need parts it may not be the brand to buy. I will think of something

I have a solution to my own problem. I am shopping for a new canopy and will keep the old one for parts. I have best price of $79 so far. I will stay with same brand and model as it has served me well.

I am a HUGE fan of the EZ-UP & QUICK-SHADE type canopies .
I carry 2 in the back of my HD 2500 pickup .
We dry camp mostly.
I very much prefer towing my 21T Komfort non-slide than the previous bigger RV's .
The EZ-UP allows me to use a much smaller trailer .
The addition of putting up a quik-shade over a table , NFS or folding allows us to cook on a coleman stove and enjoy the outdoors .
The other EZ-UP sometimes goes over an extra tent that we use to add more folks .
We camp only with our boat and leave the TT home .
I usually will put up the extra EZ-UP over the front of our tent .
Wet camping stinks and the EZ-UP prevents that .

I'm looking for an EZ type canopy that is only 36" when closed and in the carrying/transporting/storing mode. (Have a specific spot in the B for it to fit) Hopefully opens to a 10X10 and, while being picky, is water proof/resistant. Anyone have any thoughts?

My old 10 x 10 quik-shade is made of steel and I hate moving it .
it may weigh 60 pounds .
I have owned it for a decade , minimum .
I cursed carrying it until my friend had his aluminum "quick-shade " bend one leg and then another until it was totally useless .
Lesson Learned : STAKE DOWN MY QUIK-SHADE EVERY TIME WITHOUT FAIL .
Our son bought us a 12 x 12 "quick-shade" a couple of years ago .
It is lighter and yet covers 144 sq ft instead of 100 sq ft .
We stake it down every time and put out some guy ropes .
These things are a SAIL .
I too am looking for a compact lightweight shelter canopy to give to our son for his upcoming birthday .
I see none that fold to a 3 foot length .
Alps Mountaineering makes a TriAwning device that I am considering .
About $ 89 on the internet .

Not sure if it helps but Dicks Sporting goods and Acadamy both had 10x10 folding canopies for $49.00 today.

Thanks!

I bought a 12x12 quick shade at Big 5 for $85 with coupon. I then took apart my old broken 10x10 and saved the parts. The new canopy folds smaller than the old one, came in green and should work fine.
