We have only been back in our stick & brick in NC for two weeks and I am already suffering from stuff-o-cation. Went over to the TT last night to put clean linens in and I just wanted to stay right there. After nearly three months in less than 200 sq ft, this place just has too much stuff! It makes me tired just looking at it. We will be here most of the summer and I intend to use the same strategies that we use for the TT; do we need it? when was the last time we used it? and what will have to go out for this item to come in? Wish me luck. lizzie

We FT for 7 yrs. and recently bought a house

Went from 280 Sq.Ft to 1500 Sq. Ft.

House was empty so it echoed

I just took off the cow bell last week as I'm no longer getting lost and have to be found.

Have no plans of acquiring any more stuff than really needed this time around.
I just keep reminding myself & GF of George Carlin's "STUFF" routine

We have a 4000 sf house plus two out buildings of stuff - don't miss it a bit when camping. I long for the simpler days at times.

I'm in the process of selling my house and I'm getting rid of almost everything. There are boxes of stuff that I've moved from house to house several times and never opened! I asked my sister if she still had her gun. She said, 'Yes, why?'. I said, 'Because if I ever think about buying another house I want you to shoot me!'

Lizzie, I understand exactly where you are coming from!! We are out for three months in the RV, when I get home---stuff is going to fly out the door of the house.

We sold our house in Tucson to move to Seattle to live on a boat, so we had to get rid of pretty much everything. Ha! After six days of yard sales, we still got to Seattle with two storage rooms full of stuff. We didn't completely empty the last one until we moved back to land. Now, 16 years after we moved here, we're wishing we had kept a few more things. And we're going through it all over again, preparing for a move to Georgia at the end of this year. We're keeping a lot more stuff this time, but the house we're moving into is fully furnished. Some of that stuff will have to go to make room for the few pieces of furniture we love and other stuff we can't do without. Ya got to have your STUFF!

Retired 3 years ago and moved everything from city house to vacation house. Double stuffication ensued. Mother passed away last year and triple stuffication set in. While snowbirding this winter we bought an empty house in Florida and furnished it from our 5er. We have all that stuff up north but are living in an echo chamber. I can't bring myself to buy anything, knowing that I already have three of them somewhere.

I have only myself to blame for my suffering. We downsized 20 years ago when I moved from South Florida to the Atlanta area. BUT, we furnished a condo for my DH and a lake cabin for me and put everything else in storage. Bad idea the storage. Both of my parents died (I am an only child) so more storage. This house was completely furnished so even more storage. We were paying to store stuff that we hadn't seen in years. What's with us? Today is April 13, my deadline is June 13. Check this page to see if I make it. lizzie
