I have been looking at these for sometime, anyone have any experience with one.

Tepui Tents

At around $1000 they are a little expensive for a tent however.

Building a folding 8 foot X 8 foot plywood platform on this $300 Harbor Freight trailer.

Then pitching this 8 X 8 tent on it would be much cheaper, and I wouldn't have so far to fall.

Am I Crazy?

Even better look around for a used boat trailer, much better made and $50 and up.

It was more expensive, but when my last tent bit the dust, I bought a LifeTIme Trailer Tent (Sahara model) from Costco. It comes on a pallet with an instrtuction manuel, but my teenaged daughter and I managed to assemble it. Now we haul tons of stuff on the trailer (in bins color coded so we know which gear goes to the dining tent, which gear goes to the shower tent, and which gear goes to the Sahara (bedroom tent). We also haul our bikes, kayaks and a window unit air conditioner which we set on the back tail gait with the front portion inside the Sahara back door, then zip the door closed around it and stuff any gaps with a piece of old tarp.

We can use the trailer for other purposes (such as hauling new appliances home from Home Depot or hauling old mattresses to the dump), so the expense was somewhat justifiable.

Yes in looking around the net several tents on a trailer are ready to go.

This one looks very easy to set up:

Years ago I was looking at one in a campground. Couple had a fight because she would not use in and slept in the car. He kept insisting it was safe from bears. She did not care. Not personal experience but eavesdropping experience.
