Walmart wine
Some Walmart customers soon will be able to sample a new discount item --
Walmart's own brand of wine. The world's largest retail chain is teaming
up with E&J Gallo Winery of Modesto, Calif., to produce the spirits at an
affordable price, in the $2-$5 range. While wine connoisseurs may not be
inclined to throw a bottle of Walmart brand wine into their shopping
carts, there is a market for cheap wine, said Kathy Micken, professor of
marketing at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI. She said: "The
right name is important." So, here we go:

Gallo is king of Cheap wines. Ernie and Julio made their millions on wines such as Thunderbird, Boones Farm, Ripple, and those wine coolers that I forgot the name of. Julio died a few years ago but Ernie still lives in a house on the site of the orginal vineyard that their father started.

That is not only a funny one but timely, Mondovi is worried about losing money to the TWO BUCK CHUCK wines started by Trader Joe's Markets. There is nothing more fun than watching a SF Bay area wineaux trying a glass of TBC in a twenty dollar glass and extolling it's virtues. BTW, a Wineaux is a wine lover that uses a glass.
