If arriving from Las Vegas on NV160, there is a turn off to the west for Tecopa. This road is narrow and twisty in parts, but is fine. My 36' Class A has no problem. Another way is from Pahrump, the road is fine.
There are a couple of places to stay in Tecopa. Tecopa is not a very scenic spot, to say the least. I believe that Tecopa Hot Springs Park is the county ran park, plenty of spots and hookups. The hot bathes are free, men in one side, women in the other side.
Tecopa RV Park is located on the east side of the street and offers full hookups for about $20 per night. I prefer this park because they have about 8 private pools, differant temperatures in each, and you any yours can enjoy your soak in private. One has no roof and is really nice on those dark desert nights and the pool keeps you warm. The use of the pools are included in the space rent. BEWARE: Although you can hook up to the water faucets, they have (hard to see) signs stating not to drink the water. Bring your own water. I saw the signs the next morning, after drinking the water (taste horrible) and making coffee... but I'm still here.
Suggest spending at least one night at Terribles Lakeside Resort in Pahrump, one of the nicest RV Parks in the country.
Also, a side trip, from Tecopa, is the China Date Farm, located about 10 minutes from the springs.
Enjoy the trip!

Thank you so much for the info. We plan to spend Christmas in the area and wanted a nice place for Christmas Eve and day. We will be arriving from Tucson and will probably follow your recommendation of Terribles Park on the way in. We were in Death Valley years ago (mid 80's) and my wife has instructed me to find 'those delicious dates again'. As I remember, we were near Scotty's castle.(?) Do you have any other good suggestions? tks, rc

We tried to make reservations for Christmas at Terribles a couple of weeks ago and were told they were full...
As I said, the area around Tecopa is not very scenic, but the hot springs make up for it.
You might consider spending Christmas Eve and Day at the Silverton in Las Vegas. It's located at the intersection of I15 and NV 160, the highway to Pahrump and Tecopa.
Dates are available at several locations in the desert area. We purchased several types at China Date Farm, minutes from Tecopa. Good bakery items, too.
Enjoy
