Don't have the "new" Ford Diesel yet. From what I understand they weren't starting production until November. Ordered ours in October and expect delivery in January. Will find out then.

I read somewhere that there is an issue with the injector and that all 7000 engines produced are having to get the injectors replaced for a second time. It was on a Ford site, but I don't remember which one. Sorry

I thought only GM had these kinds of problems, but not FoMoCo. Bagman.

I don't think anyone will have one before January. I hear Ford's running late.

Perhaps ford cares enough to hold back it's product sacrificing a little profit rather than throw it out there and hope for the best.

Better safe than sorry.Thats why QUALITY IS # 1

Of course they will have the SAME problems. It's the SAME fuel system. I think every maker will go through these problems with the first year or two of production. Nobody's perfect, especially Detroit.

I just got a note from a worker at the Kentucky plant. My new F350 with 6.0L and five speed is to be built on this Monday 11/25. The ETA to my dealer is 12/9.
The problems with the injectors were only a problem with the type of bolts they were using to bolt the injectors to the engine. The problem was solved with a change of bolts.
They had some other problems normally associated with first production. Like one guy forgetting to plug in a harness at one point. The word out now is that full production has started.
I already have a trip planned after Christmas, so I will tell you my mileage then.

Hey Bagman,

I've got a 2003 Focus, cool car, no recalls yet. Wife keeps getting tickets with it, she thinks it is a Porsche.
