You've got to be really careful with RV coverage. Your RV will be covered for LIABILITY from your truck coverage, but that does not cover you for RV collision or personal effects in the RV. If you add your 5th wheel to your auto policy, you are at risk if you live in it for a longer period of time. Some insurance companies have a disclaimer of little of 60 days to a maximum I've found of 105 days). So, if you're spending the winter down south, you're LIVING in your RV. Check the fine print in your vehicle insurance policy. The best bet is to have special FULL-TIMER'S RV COVERAGE. Only a few companies offer it. This eliminates the "LIVING IN IT" problem and also provides you liability coverage on your RV and whereever you have it parked. For example, someone falling from your RV in the campground or even tripping into your firepit, etc. is a covered liability. If you own a home and have homeowners coverage, such liability might also be covered that way. If you do not have homeowners or renters coverage, you BETTER have full-timers coverage. You can buy it at depreciated value (such as thru Foremost) or replacement value (through several companies). Foremost's price was 50% higher and was only for depreciated value. I changed from Foremost to RV Alliance (Progressive insurnce), then to American Modern Insurance, written through Farm & City Insurance of Iowa - price was about the same and Farm and City is very user friendly and the towing and living allowances coverage in the event of breakdown is really good! If I destroy my RV, they will replce it with a brand, new similar model for the first 5 years. After that, they provide you the original purchase price. Seems pretty good to me! I priced everywhere I could find a writer - AARP and Good Sam didn't even bother to quote when they found out I was asking quotes from a number of companies. Campers World quoted through GMAC (also used by Good Sam) and the price was twice as much as American Modern. I'm paying a little under $600 a year on a $60,000 rig, including contents, towing and allowances, etc. I suggest you check out RV Alliance, RV America and Farm & City Services. Happy RV'ing!
Happy RV'ing. Stickman.

Just finished all the researching and checking prices and settled on Good Sam (GMAC) for both the 5ver and the pickup. I could not beat their pricing when insuring both with them. I carry emergency service with Good Sam.
Progressive was in the top 3, also Farm and City.
Hope this helps.

Man, I must not be living right. GMAC was higher than a kite! They wanted also $3000 for 6 mo. coverage on my FW and truck. What the heck gives??
That was with GSC discount, safe driver, and multiple vehicle discounts.

I have my autos with USAA. They added my '99 Airstream for 1/3 of what Foremost wanted.

I had my TT insured with State Farm, which is my carrier for 3 vehicles, Homeowners and etc. I also had GSC Emergency Service. When I was buying my 5th wheel in March, the dealer asked if i wanted a quote on insurance. I wasn't considering a change but didn't think it would hurt to see how much I was saving with State Farm. When the quote came in, the cost was about about the same as State Farms. Then I checked into the difference's. There was a lot of things that State Farm didn't cover, and when I asked State Farm for the coverage thay said that they didn't provide it. Some of the things included by the new company quote were, Emergency Road Service, Trip interuption Insurance, and Original Cost replacement. The only thing that I didn't like was that if I use the fiver more than 150 days a year, I would have to buy Full Timer's Insurance. I switched from State Farm, cancelled my GSC Emergency Service and became a customer of Progressive. The one person that I know who has Progressive and had a claim was satisfied.
Premiums vary by area, but my annual premium is about $ 250.00. There were additional items that I did not select that would have pushed the premium to over $ 300.00 (I don't remember what they were).
Consequently, I think you should get quotes, compare, and buy what suits your needs.

I researched several RV insurance providers and found that RV America had the best coverage for the best price.
