We have a 2002 Honda CR-V that we tow 4 down. Had a Civic on a tow dolly prior.... I found it to be a real pain to hook up the dolly and then the car. The CR-V was our answer.

If you're wanting an automatic transmission, only the Honda can be towed without any modifications. This is the main reason you see so many behind MH's.

Pop Watkins...I have a 2002 Honda CRV with 4 wh auto and tow it up and down 6% grades of I-5, no problems. I believe the RAV4 can only be towed if it's a manual and following required manuf. steps. The CRV has room in the rear tail lights to put a socket in for your required lights. By passing the vehicle lights with its own wiring. On the "Dinghy Towing Vehicles", check Jan 03 Motorhome magazine for more info. Happy Motoring!

I have posted many comments about towing a RAV4. To find, use the search function and search on my UserName in this category. We have a 2001 RAV4 automatic that is listed as towable in the Owners Manual, but I still recommend a lube pump. LOve the RAV4!!!!!!!!!
