We will be visiting this area in late September/early October for a couple of weeks and was wondering if anyone had any experience with these parks. We will be staying in Tampa for 2-3 days to go to Busch Gardens and then heading down the west coast. Before heading across and down to the keys.
We have a choice of:-
Encore-Tampa East
Sunburst Superpark-Tampa East
Encore -Tampa North
and then:-
Encore-Sarasota North
Sunburst-Ft. Myers Beach
Sunburst-Notrh Ft. Myers
Encore-Port Charlotte
Encore-Punta Gorda
Thanks.

I have stayed at the sunburst's in No. Ft Myers and Tampa East.
No. Ft Myers has a lot of park models (permanent trailers), but a nice pool. Tampa East is okay, but kind of dated.
I overall have found Sunburst and Encores to have had better days.
In the Tampa area I would recommend the Lazy Days campground at the dealer. Close to the attractions, really nice pool and pretty new.
Hope this helps.

Angie,
We live in Tampa and travel all over the state. All the parks in your post are good. This time of the year most have very small numbers of people due to the heat. We have been to most. You may need more time in Tampa to see all the things we have here. Enjoy your trip down from Wilmington.

Stayed at the Tampa East last year - It is an OK park

However you might want to consider SouthernAire or Spanish Main RV resorts in Thonotosassa. They are closer to Busch gardens, Convention Center and Casino - and, IMHO, nicer parks

Thanks for the information.
I looked at Lazydays last month and am sure their price was $19.99 a night. I just went to make reservations and it appears they have put their price up to $29.99 a night. Was the cheaper price a special promotion and is $29.99 their usual price?

We live just outside the Tampa area also--Valrico. If you want to be closest to Busch Gardens/Tampa area and want the best facility, the RallyPark at Lazydays is the best spot. We were just there the past few nights and we still paid $19.99 a site per night. Of course, they give you complimentary lunch and breakfast coupons for over at the dealership and a paper every morning. Besides that the sites are full hook-up, clean, 60 channel cable tv all included. It is the best choice in my opinion.
