Fiver, I don't think he was trying to flame you, but it seems that more negative comments come from "other" owners than from 6.0 PSD owners. I have followed www.thedieselstop.com ever since I ordered my truck in Jan. Although a lot of good info is available on that site, it does seem like some of those that post there are a bit psychotic about their vehicles. I am pretty anal when it comes to my truck, but to be honest I have been very happy overall. I'm more upset that I've had to have my a/c fixed twice in 6 months than I am about any of the issues with the motor. My issues have been minor and only slightly irritating, but I think they were fixed with the last reflash.

I have been very happy with my 6.0. It tows like my trailer isn't even there and is very comfortable. I have had a few minor problems which Ford has been quick to rectify. Some people have had a lot of problems according to posts on the diesel stop, but I think the vast majority of 6.0 owners have been pleased.

Bear in mind that for every unhappy person there's at least 10 happy ones. You only hear the bad things, never the good. I shied away from the Duramax last year when we bought the PSD because I "heard" all these horror stories. None appear to have come into fruition. All new vehicles have problems. Also remember, we now live in a society that has instant communication. Even 10 years ago there would not have been the large scale information distribution we now have. It's a more competitive market than ever so you're bound to here more press about problems.

I love my truck. It's my first diesel and I don't regret it at all. You can become paranoid by reading all the bad press and Internet BBs, but I can honestly say this engine kicks butt!! I get 22MPG highway and 17MPG city. Towing I get about 14MPG. Try beating that with a Suburban 6.0 or 8.1 gasser. I fly up mountain passes and the engine braking system on the downside is tops. Great towing rig!!!

Disclaimer: I've always been a Chevy guy so I have nothing against them. I would have bought one if they had a diesel SUV.

The 6.0L PSD kicks butt!!!

We love our new F250 - we only have about 4000 miles, but it's never missed a beat. The only complaint is it has so much power at idle speed that we idle down main street at 25 mph, and don't have the chance to rev. it up.

My brother in-law also has the new 6.0 in his F350. It is his work truck and is about 2 months older than ours, so I would image he has at least 7 or 8K on his. No problems to date.

Have a 2003 PSD 7.3, 2 buddies have the 2003 PSD 6.0's. The 6.0 is faster and has more torque then mine. To date no mechanical problems noted with the 6.0...and my friends are very, very happy with there trucks. The main difference (other then engine noise) I have noticed, is they pull there trailers up 6% grades at 70mph, I'm happy with 60mph.

I just bought a 2003 F250 almost two months ago and have had no problems as of yet. I was only concerned because I have been hearing about problems. Hopefully they have been worked out. I think there is alot to be said about buying a vehicle when it first comes out and it has alot of upgrades. I think that was the case with my 2003 Chevy. It was so new, I had to find that model on the internet and drove to that dealer and it literally had just been delivered.

Oh well, live and learn.

"The 03 Ford 32V 6.0 will blow the doors off a 03 Dodge 24V 5.9."

I hope one of those clattering clanking ragatag Fords never blows up next to me. That would be terrible!
But yep. You're right. It's marginally faster than a HO Dodge Cummins towing or empty. I had the opportunity to buy either. I chose the Dodge Cummins for reliability and simplicity over speed. So far while we're out running 68-70mph on the interstates towing our 5th wheel, the only truck/trailer that has passed us was a Tundra pulling a lightweight 5th wheel. I didn't realize it was a race!

As NAVY MSC stated both the 6.0 and the 7.3 F350 are one pullin machine. We have the 6.0 and some VERY good friends have the 7.3. We are both happy campers with our F350 Duallys. BIG DOG RULES !!!
