I see some messages concerning the 2003 Ford 6.0 (hope I have that right) Diesel. I looked at one today, and liked the way it drove. What are some of the bugs some of you mentioned?

There have been several threads on the new Ford diesel recently. Although there is quite a bit of negative press on the internet about the new 6.0, it seems that most of us that frequent this site have good running trucks. I've been very happy with my new PSD. I have had an occasional surging idle, but I think it was corrected last week when I got the latest reflash. Time will tell.

I traded a 2000 7.3 PSD for a new 2003 6.0 PSD and it runs much better. I think most of the problems were the 6.0's built in the first few months. Ford has a 100,000 mile warranty on all new PSD's so if you get a real bad one Ford will buy it back because if they don't they risk losing their #1 source of income...the truck buyer.

FiverBob, Do you happen to have any links that have negative posts after April of 2003. Your first link's last post was in May (and it was positive, I couldn't get the second link to work.

I don't think I'll be taking my advice from someone who's signature says he drives a Dodge truck!!

In my opinion The DeiselStop has a bunch of whiners on it.

I love my 6.0L deisel. No problems at all.

Those same whiners were bragging like crazy when the new Superduty came out in '99. I wonder what happened in '03...

GTYE,

Sorry about the one link. It was an MSNBC news article, current about a week ago that has been obviously dropped now. It was recounting some of the problems.

If you will note my post a little closer, I made no "opinions" about the new Ford neither giving advice nor making any comments other than OUCH. I would say ouch if I had the same problems on my Dodge. I only gave two websites as requested by the originator. I have a friend who also loves his new Ford. He has also had a bunch of trouble with it, but still loves it - - but, he has also driven Fords for 15 years. I have driven his and it drives very nice. So, please don't think I was slamming - - I only gave two websites I happened across. I was not aware that driving a Dodge placed me in the category of being so stupid as to not have some good advice on something that might be of value to someone.

I thought the site with the mechanics discussions was quite intriguing. I wish I could find the same for Dodge - - there was not much there on the Dodge line.
