Hi folks, we just returned from Skeleton Lake this last long weekend and would like to share our experience with you. Skeleton Lake is about 2hrs north of Edmonton (six km east of Boyle). The Lakeshore campground is a privately owned campground that has a lot of permanently rented sites. The area around the pool and office is mostly permanently parked trailers with decks etc. built around them. An expanded and newer area has been built with some facilities still under construction. Most weekend camping is in this new area called section "B" that has been carved out of a very mature stand of poplar trees. Wood is sold by the wheelbarrow load for $5.00. There is a 10 room bed and breakfast facility that is made from portable skid trailers. Section “B” has full hookups. Most sites can accommodate large rv’s however the stalls are at 90 degrees to the road so a little caution is required when backing in. We never noticed much of a beach when we were there. Most of the sites along the lake have been permanently rented and each has their own access to the lake. We enjoyed our stay and met some very nice people. What we thought could be improved on was that the pool was cold and the firewood was old and damp. We took some pictures that can be viewed at the link below.
