I've got a 17' Casita without awning. Some pack a 10X10 pop-up canopy in their tow vehicle. How does that compare with having Camping World install an awning? I've heard of durability problems with awnings, plus they are relatively expensive. Opinions appreciated.

Pop up canopies are nice, in that they are so flexible to use... Shade for a tow vehicle, shade for a lunch table, awning for the TT, shade for the beach, you get the idea.

Awnings are attached permanently to the TT. That's the only place you can use them. They are, however, just as easy and simple to put up and take down as a Pop up canopy. I don't think they'd be that difficult to install, rather than CW doing it, unless you don't have the time or the tools.

I didn't order an awning with my trailer but use a 10'x10' canopy. It holds up well in wind and rain and is easy to setup. I felt the awning was overpriced considering the size of it (12' if I recall) on a 16' trailer and its high cost.

I have a 12 X 12 "Easy Up" pop up canopy. My daughter plays softball so the Easy Up goes with us to the ball field, and after the ball games it goes up by the trailer. I would eventually like to get an awning for the trailer, but for now the pop up canopy does the trick.

When the awning on my MH finally goes, I will buy two 12' x 12' pop up canopies. WE have one Quik Shade canopy now and love it. I would never waste all that money on an awning again. They are nothing but trouble. The canopies are about $150 and easy to carry as they fold up to a small size.
