JimmyD, in my case, the only "useable" signal I can get on my set-up are from the EVEN numbered transponders. The BEST transponder signal for me is 18, I can get decent signal strength on other transponders, but 18 hits 100 each and everytime!

I had the same problem on my home Sat. (signal on even and none on odd). Cleaned all terminations with steel wool and reassembled. Problem went away. Even a minor amount of corrosion can increase the signal loss.

Yesterday I went out to the TT and turned on the sat system so I could watch the race. NOTHING! Everything was on but there was no signal for the channel I wanted. I went to the menu and checked the signal strengh and found that I had no signal on the even numbered transponders. I then went out to the dish and changed out the LNB ( the part at the end of the arm pointing back at the dish) and cured my problem. As I have collected spare LNB's from discarded dishes it was a cheap fix. New LNB's are available at Walmart and Radio Shack.
